Primary sources are here defined as memoirs, diaries and collections of letters written by veterans of the Peninsular War. In the future we hope to include a detailed guide to these memoirs that will allow students to locate accounts of particular regiments, battles and campaigns.
Secondary sources are here defined as works written after the events of 1808-14 which seek to give a general account of events or to examine some aspect of the Peninsular War or individual battle or campaign in some detail. We here attempt to give brief details of the works that we consider should form the basis of any Peninsular-War bibliography.
